VHS video tape problem!! Please answer, it is very important to my family!!?

It sounds like your VCR did not properly sense the speed the tape was recorded at. This is most likely due to dirt in the VCR. I would try a cleaning tape in the VCR. If this does not work perhaps you can borrow or rent another VCR to make a newer copy of your treasured tape.
