What to expect from a partial hysterectomy?

My gyno tried to do an endometrial ablation but I was told that it did not work. He also did a laparoscopy at the same time and told me that he treated alot of endometriosis, but in order to really get it to not come back I would probably have to get a partial hysterectomy where they just take out part of the uterus and leave the cervix and overies. I had a few questions. I had this laparoscopy and ablation on the 26th of April so will he make me heal up from that surgery before I can do another? What are the side effects to a partial hysterectomy? Are they the same except for less intense as a total hysterectomy? Also what is the average stay in the hospital if I have an abdominal cut? What is the average stay if I have it lapascopic? Also I have an slightly large uterus so will he be able to do it lapascopic? Will I gain weight and have to take hormones if I only have the partial. Basically I just want to hear from women that have had the procedure and tell me how it is done what can I expect and anything else you can add. Very nervous please help!!!
