Can a company tell you that you cannot to a person after they no longer work there for example a DM ?

Can't talk to a person? Outside of work hours and outside the office? Sure they can tell you. They can also tell you that the world is flat. But if they fire you for talking to that person, hire someone you like for your attorney - you're going to make him (and yourself) rich and famous.
