How many eyes does an insect have?

A roach has two eyes. And just for clarification, many of the organisms listed by other people are in the phylum arthropoda as are insects, but insects are in their own sub phylum hexapoda, cl insecta, which is named with regard to the amount of legs they have. Spiders are in the sub phylum Chelicerata, cl Arachnida.
